Pocono Spring Retreat Contest – Who wants to win?

By Donna M. Boock

Spring is in the air in Eastern Pennsylvania!

Okay…maybe not quite yet. But registration for the 2014 Spring Pocono Retreat is already underway and that is a sure sign of spring right?

If you haven’t registered yet, now’s the time to do it! I’m very excited to announce we will be giving away at random a seat to a semi-private session with author and editor Patti Gauch to six lucky people who register before 3/6/14 at 11:59 pm!

Those who have already registered and those who register on or before 3/6/14 will be included in the drawing.  Six people will win!

Winners will bring along a manuscript and during Saturday’s hors d’ouevres, Patti will read a key part of your work or talk to you about anything associated with your manuscripts in your small group.

Former vice president and editor at large of Philomel Books, Patti is now a fulltime writer and lecturer. She has authored more than 40 picture books and novels for young readers, including the highly acclaimed Thunder at GettysburgThis Time, Tempe Wick?; and Christina Katerina and the Box. Her most recent title, The Knitting of Elizabeth Amelia, was published in fall 2009. Patti holds a doctorate in English literature, has taught children’s literature on the college level, and has reviewed for the New York Times. Patti has edited three Caldecott books, including Owl Moon by Jane Yolen and John Schoenherr and So You Want to Be President? by Judith St. George and David Small. She has worked with many well-known authors and artists, including Eric Carle, Patricia Polacco, Brian Jacques, Andrew Clements, T.A. Barron, and Loren Long. So what do you need to do to be in the drawing?  Register for the 2014 Pocono Retreat on or before 3/6/2014.  That’s really it.  Winners will be announced on the blog on 3/7/2014.  Be sure to check back to see if you are one of the lucky six.

Best of luck!
