LOVE, by Chrissa Pedersen

after the rain

Love sprang from the earth
like a new tree grown.
Reaching, stretching,
yearning, for the sun.
Water dripped from leaves,
from eyes.
Thirsty, we drank.
Our roots holding fast,
against wind and storm.
