When I was a child growing up in New York, I was a reluctant reader. In second and third grade, I was in the lowest reading group and spent time each week with Mrs. Roth, the special reading teacher. I remember everyone trying very hard to find books that would appeal to me. Then finally someone recommended Arnold Lobel’s “Frog and Toad.”
Fast forward 30 years. My son Thomas was starting to read. I saw an announcement for the musical A Year with Frog and Toad at the Arden Theatre. It would be our first show there. A Year with Frog and Toad was wonderful! I loved it. My son loved it. Even my husband loved it! The songs, the set design, the acting! And now it’s back from November 23rd through January 29th.
