Happy Monday, everyone!

I hope your holiday season has been amazing and magical thus far, and you aren’t drowning under the shopping, baking, decorating, and our first snowfall (!) of the season. We only have a week to go until Christmas, but I’m already thinking about the new year and all I can do to make the Eastern Penn Points blog a more valuable resource for you, our awesome Eastern PA SCBWI members.

In the midst of my plotting and planning, I wanted to update you on the new themes for next year. If you’d like to make 2017 the year you expand your reach and wish to contribute to Eastern Penn Points, we’d love to see your post!

Our submission guidelines are here, and if you need a little more convincing, please see this post on all the reasons blogging with us can be good for you and your writing career.

To get you thinking, here is a sneak peek at our 2017 themes…(drumroll please):

  • January: “New Year, New Goals” What goals are you setting for 2017? How have they  changed from last year, or a few years ago?
  • February: “#BelieveInMagic Annual Art and Poetry Show.” Read the official call for submissions announcement and guidelines here!
  • March: “Practical Advice” What’s the most important thing you’ve learned about querying, writing, publishing, or marketing? How did you learn it? What advice can you share?

And if you have a general submission that doesn’t fit the themes above, send it anyway! We love hearing from Eastern PA SCBWI members.

Happy Holidays!
