  1. Your illustration is lots of fun, Rebecca! I love the stone cats and mice flanking the window!!!

  2. Brinton L Culp says:

Wonderfully magical! Love this!–thank you for sharing.

  3. Hi Rebecca I love your work!! There’s so much magic in your book, WHAT I DREW IN CHURCH, that I won at the silent auction at a SCBWI Pocono Retreat. Lovely to have seen you again at Rutgers this year. There is so much playfulness and amazing detail in your work while each illustration holds a story.

    • unbecca says:

Thanks so much for your kind words, Chrissa! I’m glad you like the “Church” book — there’s a new edition now, with three more years’ worth of drawings… Great to see you at Rutgers, too!

  4. Joan says:

    Love the little details!

  5. Kim Briggs says:

Hi Rebecca! I knew you were talented, but WOW, you blew my mind with this picture. So light and whimsical with fun movement! Love the frog!

  6. What a great way to start the month. Thanks, Rebecca!

  7. Lindsay Bandy says:

Rebecca! There is so much to love about this picture! The combo of lines and swirly curves catches my eye. And I especially love the kitties in the stone! My daughters enjoyed it, as well. Thank you for sharing 🙂

    • unbecca says:

Thanks so much, Lindsay! And I am proud (?) to say that the green magic swirl is actually traditional watercolor (painted with heart fluttering, lest I mess up) instead of Photoshopping it in. Also, this was back in the day when I was painting on BRISTOL BOARD, because I didn’t know about watercolor paper! Duh…

  8. I love the frog’s expression! 🐸

  9. Kristen C.S. says:

Hi Rebecca, I love giving the frog the wand. And I really want to know what the young girl is thinking. Her expression is begging me to read and find out! So cool. =)

    • unbecca says:

Thanks ever so much, Kristen! The little witch gets into a lot of little mishaps throughout the story, so it made sense to make the frog the character who is more sensible and in charge!

  10. Pam Miller says:

Who couldn’t love the magical characters you’ve created? The color schemes? Your attention to detail? Cheering for your success.

  11. gayleckrause says:

    Hi Rebecca,

My writing loft is filled with framed fantasy art and I would absolutely love to add your MAGIC SPELLS to my collection. I adore your little sorceress and her frog helper. ❤ Your illustration is beautiful!

Hi Rebecca, I love your illustration Topsy Turvy Magic! I see the Magical beauty through the colors. I feel the magic through the swirl of the wand. It is inviting, mysterious and beautiful!
