Call for Art and Poetry Submissions: July’s Theme Is “Vacation”

RV trip

Summer is just around the corner, kids are getting out of school, and many people are planning vacations. Whether that means going to museums, the beach, camping, a trip abroad, or just not having to go to school, kids look forward to vacation just as much as we adults do.

Here at EasternPennPoints we can think of no better way to celebrate summer than with an art and poetry blog event! We invite our readers to send in their vacation-themed art and poetry to be featured on the blog in the month of July. And for those of us stuck at our writing/illustrating desks, we’ll also include some writing/drawing prompts (courtesy of award-winning author Anthony D. Fredericks) at the end of each post to get our creative juices flowing in the summer heat.

Here’s what to do:

  • Send submissions to Laura Parnum at epa-ara@scbwi.org.
  • Send artwork as a jpeg.
  • Poetry can be pasted into the body of your e-mail.
  • Please include your name, a title for your artwork or poem, and a brief bio (one paragraph) to tell our readers about who you are.
  • Feel free to include a link to your website and where we can find you on social media if applicable.
  • You retain copyright of your work. If you’d like it to be removed from the blog when the month is over, just let us know.
  • Deadline for submissions is June 30, 2019, but we’ll kick things off on July 1, so submit early if you can!
  • All submissions are welcome, whether you’re published or unpublished, new to Eastern PA SCBWI or a long-time member. We can’t wait to see it!

Happy summer!
