Rising Tides

by S.C. Byrne

Artist’s statement: “Earth Day 1970-2020 – Rising Tides” is a poster depicting a warm water arctic circle in a futuristic “Waterworld.” The “North Pole” at the very top of this globe shows a portal with ascending “Tree of Life” representing motherhood, birth, and new evolution in earth’s future flooded coastal ecology due to rising sea levels. The “Climate Action” is to prepare and plan for the inevitable “Rising Tides” and to mitigate the escalating CO2 emissions by all scientific and social engineering methods available. As such, this is just one interpretation. What’s yours?
