Chapter books and early readers are very different in voice and structure from other types of children’s books. In this webinar, author Saadia Faruqi will discuss the elements of a successful chapter book series and offer writing tips to get your creativity flowing.
(Lecture recording will be available for a limited time for all participants registered before the event.)
A limited number of written critiques for up to 10 pages of an early reader or chapter book manuscript are available at an additional cost of $50. Critique submissions are due on or before Saturday, July 10, 2021.

Saadia Faruqi is a Pakistani American author, essayist, and interfaith activist. She writes the children’s early chapter book series “Yasmin” and other books for children, including middle grade novels A Place at the Table, co-written with Laura Shovan (a Sydney Taylor Book Awards Notable 2021), and A Thousand Questions (a South Asia Book Awards Honor 2021). Saadia is editor-in-chief of Blue Minaret, a magazine for Muslim art, poetry, and prose, and was featured in Oprah Magazine in 2017 as a woman making a difference in her community. She lives in Houston, TX with her husband and children.
